Meet the Team: Katie
Head of Strategic Sales at HumanX
Name: Katie Morley
Title: Head of Strategic Sales
How long you have been at HumanX: April 2024
What’s your background, and what brought you to HumanX?
I’ve always been in sales. From the time I was little, I was selling my barbies to the neighbors on my scooter- I’ve always loved the thrill of making something happen.
Before HumanX, I was in the food tech and CPG space, leading sponsorship sales for launch events in London and NYC. That experience really solidified what I love most: being at the center of something new, building momentum from the ground up, and bringing the right people into the room.
When I was approached about HumanX and heard that Jon Weiner was creating a new event, I didn’t hesitate. In the events world, when you hear that name tied to a launch, you jump at the opportunity.
What’s been your favorite HumanX moment so far?
One of my favorite HumanX moments actually happens before the event even opens.
It’s the night before. Standing on the show floor when it’s almost fully built. It’s quiet. Half empty. The carpets are perfectly clean. There’s this surreal calm before the storm.
After 12 months of prepping, selling, building, and pushing, it suddenly becomes real and tangible. You’re standing in something that, for a year, only existed in decks, floorplans, and conversations. And for a second, it’s still and peaceful before 6,000 people pour in.
It’s that “holy sh*t, this is mine” moment. My baby. The thing we built from scratch.
How has AI changed the way you work?
Harder, better, faster, stronger...
I use AI every single day. It’s like having an extra team member who never sleeps. It keeps me accountable, organized, and moving at a speed that just wouldn’t be possible otherwise.
In sales and especially launching a global event the momentum is everything. AI helps me refine outreach and proposals, organize strategy, and move from idea to execution in minutes instead of hours.
It doesn’t replace the relationship building or the instinct that’s still human… (Human[X]) . But it absolutely amplifies my output and sharpens how I work.
What’s something on your desk that tells us a little bit about you?
I don’t really have a go-to desk. I’m usually on the move between events, coffee shops, coworking spaces, or just shifting around my apartment.
In my work bag: noise-canceling headphones, at least five lip options, and black tea I may or may not have hoarded from hotel rooms.
