Transforming Enterprise Customer Success with AI

Deepak Shrivastava, founder and CEO of Sunrise AI, shares how his company is revolutionizing enterprise-level customer success management using AI. Sunrise AI acts as a co-pilot for account managers, helping them work three to five times faster with improved precision. The platform supports key functions like churn reduction, retention optimization, and upsell strategies, empowering managers to service their clients more effectively.

"Our tagline is that we're an AI co-pilot for enterprise customer success managers," says Shrivastava. However, for a broader audience, he simplifies it: "We help account managers at large companies work more efficiently to serve their customers better."

The Journey to Sunrise AI: A Strategic Pivot

Shrivastava’s entrepreneurial journey started with two previous startups in the travel tech space. After exiting those ventures, he partnered with the AI Fund, a Palo Alto-based VC studio, to explore AI’s potential. Initially, Sunrise AI aimed to improve credit scoring, but customer acquisition was slow. After speaking with over 200 executives, Shrivastava identified a larger gap in enterprise AI adoption, especially in post-sales customer success. This led to a strategic pivot to the current focus of Sunrise AI.

Addressing the Challenges of AI Adoption in Large Enterprises

For Sunrise AI, breaking into the enterprise market presented challenges—mainly, how to ensure seamless integration without disrupting existing workflows. Privacy and data security were major concerns. "The last thing anyone wants is a complex onboarding process or risks around data breaches," Deepak noted. To tackle this, Sunrise AI has adopted strict compliance measures such as SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001, ensuring enterprise-grade security for their clients.

The Future of Work and AI's Role in It

Shrivastava is passionate about the future of work and AI’s role in reshaping industries. He compares AI to a calculator that helps people do their jobs faster and more efficiently. His vision is to make AI as ubiquitous as electricity in the workplace, eventually dropping the “AI” from the company’s name as it becomes a natural part of business operations.

Looking Ahead: Sunrise AI’s Vision

As Sunrise AI continues to grow, Shrivastava is excited about the future developments in AI and its ethical use in industries beyond customer success. He emphasizes the need to ensure that AI adoption benefits everyone, not just a select few, creating opportunities for wealth and knowledge distribution.
