Francis deSouza is the Chief Operating Officer at Google Cloud. He joined Google after three decades as an engineer, technology executive, entrepreneur, board member, and investor. Prior to Google, Francis co-founded SynthLabs, an AI alignment company with Microsoft and First Spark as investors. He is the former CEO of Illumina, where he led the company's growth and innovation in DNA sequencing. Prior to Illumina, he served as President at Symantec, overseeing their security and data management portfolio.
