Chris Urmson is the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Aurora and a pioneer in self-driving technology. He began his career leading Carnegie Mellon’s DARPA Challenge teams, then helped launch and lead Google’s self-driving car project (now Waymo). In 2017, he co-founded Aurora to safely bring autonomy to market. He holds over 60 patents, has authored more than 50 publications, and earned a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon and a BEng from the University of Manitoba.
