Born in Tehran, Sanaz Yashar fled Iran with her family as a teenager and resettled in Israel, where she was recruited into the IDF’s elite Unit 8200. Over a 15-year career in Israeli intelligence, she led advanced cyber operations at the highest levels. She later held senior roles at Cybereason, FireEye, and Mandiant (now part of Google), investigating major Russian and Iranian state-sponsored attacks. In 2022, she co-founded Zafran Security, which has raised $130M from Sequoia and Cyberstarts and helps Fortune 500 enterprises proactively mitigate risk using existing security tools.
