Eric is the Executive Vice-President of Scripps Research, the largest non-profit biomedical research in the United States, where he is founder and director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute in 2007. He previously led Cleveland Clinic cardiology to become the leading heart center in the US. He was the founder of a new medical school at Cleveland Clinic (Lerner College of Medicine), was commissioned by the UK government to lead a review of their National Health Service. His primary research focus is medical AI and he is one of the top 10 most cited researchers in medicine.
